Appu Ghar Delhi - Latest News Updates After Closing, Future Aspect of reopening of appu ghar in delhi

Appu Ghar was named after its mascot, an elephant. "Appu" is the name of the elephant and "Ghar" means house in Hindi. Appu was a live elephant mascot that became the star of the 1982 Asian Games held in New Delhi.

Inaugurated on 19 November, 1984 on the occasion of the birthday of former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, Appu Ghar quickly became a crowd puller for the residents of the Indian capital as well as those of neighbouring towns.

Appu Ghar has had a chequered history since its inception. The India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), which owns Pragati Maidan, leased the land to IAL for three years in 1984 to run and operate Appu Ghar. Subsequently, ITPO kept on extending the lease to IAL till November 1999, when it last expired. And Finally, in 2007, the Supreme Court ratified the Government's decision to hand over the land, paving the way for Appu Ghar's eventual closure on 17 February, 2008.

Many of us Have Gone To Our "APPU GHAR" atleast once in our life and we'd lots of lots of sentiments attached with Appu Ghar.

When final closure day of Appu Ghar came, most visitors' eyes filled with tears and they wanted to have atleast one last time in their life, some of them could go and see their Appu Ghar for the last time and could remember their feelings attached with Appu Ghar.

After the closure of Appu Ghar, a big question in front of everyone was "When will Appu Ghar Re-open? And Where?" now since 2 years after its closure, no one even know what exactly is happening with Appu Ghar and question is still alive.. When & Where Appu Ghar will reopen?"

Sanyo, Inc. could find some conclusion to this fact and has brought light on this issue. We've found last memories of Appu Ghar after its closure which are here below:

You Can see in the above images that our Appu (once the friend of all of us as kids) is lying in the junk yard in Rohini Sec-11's empty land.

We tried to talk to guards and officials presents at the spot and tried to ask about the re-opening of appu ghar in future, on that they didn't say any solid answer but the way they were talking with lack of confidence, it was clearly understood with their actions that we may never see our Appu again in future and our we wont be able to show our kids where we had grown up... its sad to say that but its true.. its a Final Good Bye to our beloved "Appu"

Global Warming - Earth Is Heating Up... Save Our Earth

Global warming is increasing in the average of the Earth's near surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century and its continiously increasing. The ill effects of global warming everyone can notice in the mode of change in temprature.

Usually in the month of April in India, temperature remain somewhat 30-32 degree celsius but past few years, we are noticing regular increment in average temprature every year. Mid April in the year 2008 it crossed 37 degree celsius and in the year 2009 temperature was beyond 40 degree. More than 5 degree hotter than the average temprature last year.

We all human being should take efforts to decrease Global Warming.

here are some of the small things which can prevent Global Warming:

1. Turn your electricity devices off when they are not required.
-- This will help reduce carbon emission and help reduce temperature)

2. On the roads, which has enough lightening, turn off your vehicle's headlights
-- Headlights are very high temperature lights in cars. If road has enough light
then we can turn our car's light off and just keep the parking light only on)

3. Say no to plastic bags

4. Switch to Coolers than Air Conditioners
-- I know its difficult but the amount of cool air an Air Conditioner generates,
it generate more than 10 times heat in the outer world. So please use cooler in day time if possible.

5. Use LCDs instead of Television
-- Televisions consume higher voltage and generate high carbon emission. Swith to LCD and save earth.
Also save heavy on electricity bills :D

6. For Electronic Manufacturers - Make as many as universal ports in your mobiles and other devices

-- If all the mobile phones will be having common charging pin, data cable connectivity port and headphone ports (connector) then need of separate chargers, data cables and headsets requirement will go down and we can see less electronic waste in future that can lead to less burning of waste plastic and electronic devices, less carbon emission due to less equipments needed with every individual. As all of us know, USB has become a standard in computers and as it names derived - Universal System Bus, same way 3.5mm Jack is common for audio connector in computers and audio devices, then why can't we have these type of common ports for charging, data transfer and audio ports in mobile phones and in-fact all the devices???

These are the effects which are in my mind curently. I request all of you to please write which can help in reducing global warming. I'll update this page with your name and your website url (best deal for webmasters)

Bollywood Bloopers – What a fine Copy Cats : KIDNAP

06/25/09 | by Sanyo [mail] | Categories: Global Issues

Hey guys I had seen this movie called KIDNAP starring Imran Khan and Minisha Lamba
just few days back on Television. My god … now I know why the movie didn’t do well:P really a horrible movie with an even more horrible story line. And and and that’s not enough most of the part of the story was taken from Die Hard with a Vengeance (Starring Bruce Willis).

What a fine movie it was (Die Hard) you know what in the movie the villain used to give riddles to the protagonist and when he solved he would have the clue to find the Bomb. And in our desi version too Imran the villain gave riddles to Sanjay dutt oops now I won’t say that he looked like Bruce Willis well Sanjay was not even close: P and then there was just one difference, the Bomb in our desi version was Minisha Lamba (that too a diffused one) he he..

I don’t really understand why our film industry can’t make a movie on there own. Why they always have to flick a story from Hollywood or somewhere and then place it on a fine dish and just put ones tag on it of themselves. And then they say it took years for me to write that movie …its fresh and original.

For Example here is a fine list of some ORIGINAL Copied movies.

Partner – The Hitch

Ghajini – The Momento

Hum Tum – When Harry met Sally

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi – Anger Management and Meet the Parents

Welcome – Mickey Blue Eyes

Etc. etc. etc…

Please guys give us some Originals now… too bored to watch same copied movies again and again. :P

The Swine Flu : India & Global

06/25/09 | by Sanyo [mail] | Categories: Global Issues

We all are aware of the deadly disease i.e. “The Swine Flu” which is spreading like an epidemic in the whole world, but we should also know the exact reasons and preventions to save ourselves from this deadly disease.

In India earlier there were not many cases though of this Flu but now day by day the number of cases of Swine flu is increasing. We should take proper care and preventions as we always say “Prevention is Better Than Cure”. So we must and should abide by this saying. Some people may say that it is nothing and there is no risk but if you get this disease then the cure is really very tough.

Our antibodies to various yearly mutations of the typical influenza (flu) virus, cannot help in this case. This swine flu virus is vastly different, not found among humans until now. As a result, recovery time is slower, leading to more severe symptoms which can be fatal, especially among immunocompromised or the elderly.

Causes:
This Flu in humans is due to a new strain of influenza A virus subtype H1N1 that contains genes closely related to swine influenza. The origin of this new strain is unknown. However, the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reports that this strain has not been isolated in pigs. This strain can be transmitted from human to human and causes the normal symptoms of influenza.

It is said that trasmission of the Swine Influenza virus is not common from pigs to humans, the people who come in contact with the animal who work with pigs especially people with intense exposure are at increased risk of getting this flu, and the people who get in contact with these people also get infected, but it is said that the meat of the animal poses no risk of transmitting the virus when it is properly cooked.

Symptoms:
In humans, the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

Preventions:

• Influenza spreads between humans through coughing or sneezing and people touching something with the virus on it and then touching their own nose or mouth, so do wash your hands and try not to be in contact with the infected person.
• Swine flu cannot be spread by pork products, since the virus is not transmitted through food but if you are eating pork then do cook it well so that if there might be any thing it may get destroyed.
• Anyone with flu-like symptom such as cough, sudden fever or body-muscle aches must consult there doctor as soon as possible.

Banking On Cost Cutting or Cost Increasing in this financial crunch?

06/02/09 | by Sanyo [mail] | Categories: India

ICICI Bank Logo

As we all are aware of this running financial crunch since the global slowdown in the markets in year 2008, everyone either corporate world or the household, they are all running to slow down their expenses by any means. Everyone is trying their own mode of cost cutting in their lives. Banks too have increased their service and maintainance charges and doing their cost cutting by implementing many sources at their end.

ICICI Bank Cheque Book Leaves With Pen Writing Cheque Book also known as Check Book in British

Though we all are aware of this cost cutting everywhere, I dont know what ICICI Bank has done is known as cost cutting or cost increase.

I made a request for cheque book for my saving account with ICICI and they took the request over the phone and assured me the delievery of cheque book at the door step within 7 working days. On 7th day cheque book was at my address via courier.
When i opened the packet, i was really shocked to see the cheque book. Instead of having a 25 leaf cheque book inside, there was a cheque book with just 15 leafs. This is the innovative idea my ICICI bank has developed.

Now i dont able to understand that cheque book is same, printing on the cheques is same, main cover is as glossy and hard as it was earlier, courier charges are exactly same as earlier. Now all these printing costs, courier charges etc. which bank was bearing on 25 cheque leafs is now devided to 15 leafs. That means now their per cheque leaf will cost them more as compare to per leaf in 25 leafs cheques.

So is it really a cost cutting or cost increse in this financial crunch? Bank Should Consider About It...
